The Effective Manager Program
Equipping managers to lead with confidence, clarity, and impact
Great managers are not born. They are built through experience, reflection, honest feedback, and the courage to keep growing.
Whether you are a newly promoted manager struggling to let go of the tools, or an experienced leader looking to sharpen your practice, this 2-day immersive workshop provides the frameworks and peer accountability you need to succeed.
Why This Program Exists
Most management training fails because it teaches theory without practice, or it ignores the psychological difficulty of the role. We designed this program differently:
The Gap is Real: The skills that got you promoted are not the skills you need to lead. This program explicitly tackles the mindset shift required to move from "doing" to "enabling."
Skills Alone Are Not Enough: Knowing how to give feedback is easy. Having the courage to actually give it is hard. We focus on the psychology of avoidance and how to overcome it.
Learning Must Stick: A two-day workshop is just an event. Behavioural change requires reinforcement. That is why this program includes a mandatory 30-day and 60-day structured follow-up.
What You Will Learn (The 2-Day Journey)
Day 1: Leading Yourself and Your People
Before you can lead others effectively, you must lead yourself with intention. Day 1 focuses on the internal foundations of great management.
The Mindset Shift: Stop doing the work and start enabling the team.
Time Management: Audit your week and escape the "busyness trap."
Feedback & Recognition: Master the SBI-I model to deliver clear, non-personal, actionable feedback.
Running Effective 1:1s: Transform the 1:1 from a status update into your most powerful coaching tool.
Day 2: Leading Performance and Potential
Great managers don't just manage the present—they shape the future of their people and their organisation.
Handling Underperformance: Diagnose the root cause (Will, Skill, or Environment) and structure the difficult conversation.
Executive Communication: Learn what senior leaders actually want and master the SCRA framework for upward influence.
Identifying & Growing Talent: Use the 9-Box grid and the 70-20-10 model to build your team's capability.
Personal Commitments: Leave with a concrete, 30-day Personal Leadership Action Plan.
The MRA Difference: Our Design Principles
Experience Before Theory: We open every topic by surfacing the room's real-world challenges before introducing any models.
Frameworks as Tools, Not Rules: We provide practical, memorable frameworks (SBI-I, SCRA, Will/Skill/Environment) that you can adapt to your own style.
Practice in the Room: You will role-play the difficult conversations. Skill transfer requires rehearsal.
Built-In Accountability: The program includes peer accountability pairs, a 45-60 day group follow-up session and a sponsor debrief to ensure the learning actually changes behaviour.
Who Is This For?
This program is designed for cohorts of 10–15 managers from the same organisation. It is highly effective for mixed cohorts - bringing together new managers and experienced leaders to create a shared language and leverage the group's collective wisdom.
